This year’s holidays are coming around the bend really quickly, and for many of our families at Mathews, that means looking forward to fun, excitement, and vacation time. However, for some of our families at Mathews, the holiday season is full of stress and heartache due to economic hardship and difficult life circumstances.
Every year in conjunction with our community partners, Mathews extends an arm of friendship to several families who need extra support, offering to provide some gifts and food items during the holidays. Because this year’s economy has been so hard on everyone, some of our community partners have not been able to provide as much assistance as they have in years past, and we have more families in need than partners who can help.
If you would like to participate in the Holiday Help Program program please let us know, and we will give you the information that you will need to help make someone’s holiday less stressful and more enjoyable. Please feel free to email or call Elise Martens, school counselor, if you would like to participate in supporting a family. Thank you!
