Pack Waste-Free Lunches

Did you know? It is estimated that a school-age child using a disposable lunch generates 67 pounds of waste per school year, on average. That equates to 9.3 tons of lunch waste for just one average-size elementary school.

What you can do:
On days when your child packs a lunch, make it a litter-free lunch! It is another way children learn to care for the planet through Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle!

Preserve makes great containers out of recycled #5 plastic   www.preserveproducts.com, or make your own containers out of milk and juice boxes  http://familyfun.go.com/crafts/reusable-lunch-containers-785113/, and don’t forget a reusable bottle!
