Build a strong community
- Back-to-School events, Heritage Celebrations, Math/Science/Literacy Nights, International Festival, Octoberama, Building and Grounds Workdays, Art Celebration, Track and Field day, and teacher and staff appreciation days.
- Parent Education Nights
- Mathews Fun Run in the spring
- Increase involvement and support from the community at large
- Increase PTA participation
- Increase advocacy efforts for more resources for our school and students
- Strengthen communication through the newsletter, Mathews360.com and the homeroom parents network
Provide classroom learning support
- Purchase 6 document cameras/5 tape recorders
- AIM grants for innovative classroom learning
- Grade level anthology printing
- Library support
- Purchase Band and Orchestra books
- Provide funding for part-time technology teacher
Provide teacher and student training
- Funding for continuing education for teachers
- Student leadership training
- 6th grade job shadowing
Support fundraising efforts
- Increase sponsorship for Octoberama
- Grow the grocery card programs
- Assist with grade level fundraising
- Apply for grants if applicable to our needs
- Support Mathews Fund for Excellence (MFE) with $2,000 contribution
