Ibistro: AISD/Mathews Online Library Catalog Ibistro is an online catalog of Mathews library resources. You can search online to see what’s available in the library, and access Recommended Reading lists such as books that have won the Caldecott Medal, the Newbery Medal, the Coretta Scott King Award, and many more.

Encyclopedia Britannica Online This source offers three different levels of encyclopedias (elementary, middle, and high school), including over 124,000 encyclopedia articles; thousands of photos, illustrations, and maps; student-friendly web sites; current magazine and journal articles; world atlas, dictionary, thesaurus; and much more!

World Book Online Reference Center Access a wealth of up-to-date information. World Book Student includes the articles of the World Book Encyclopedia, a Biography Center, dictionary, atlas, an extensive multimedia collection, thousands of editor-selected Web sites, correlations to curriculum standards, and much more. World Book Kids features content and tools developed especially for young students. The site offers simple navigation, easy-to-read articles, multimedia, comparison tools, interactive games and activities, and teacher resources. Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazgos offers World Book’s excellent editorial content, rich media, and interactive features in Spanish.

NetTrekker Search – a Student Search Engine This great took is an academic search engine for educators and students with more than 180,000 educationally relevant sites. You can search by level, topic and keyword.Additional features include safe clipart, curricular timelines, and famous person search.

Tumble Book Library The Tumble Book Library is an online collection of animated, talking picture books, all created from existing picture books, that teach children the joys of reading in a format they will love. The website also features Tumble Puzzles, Tumble Quizzes, Tumble Chapter Books, and Tumble Nonfiction Books.

These online resources are provided by the AISD Library Media Center. They are licensed for the staff and students of Austin ISD. They are intended for educational use by the staff, students and their parents, and should only be used by them.
