Fairy Tale Theater

Fair Tale Theater starts Tuesday, September 19th. Tuition $80 per student, more info here: FAIRY-TALE-THEATER-AFTER-SCHOOL-PROGRAM-Fall-2017 (PDF)

Fairy Tale Theater is a wonderful program led twice a year by one of our 5th grade teachers, Chad Rackowitz. Each session, students will perform, in front of the whole school, a witty twist on a classic tale (play written by Mr. Rackowitz). Class instruction includes student rehearsals, leading up to dress rehearsals, an evening performance and two school day performances. Snacks are provided. Class limit is 15 students, grade 3rd-6th.

Please note! Because Fairy Tale Theater is a very popular after-school program, we will likely receive more registration  forms than there are spaces in the class. Consequently, we cannot guarantee participation in the program even if a student registers before the deadline. Students who submit registrations by the deadline will be selected at random through a lottery. Those not selected will be placed on a waiting list pending the confirmation and payment of registered students.

Please note also! Fairy Tale Theater requires a great deal of commitment from everyone involved, including students and parents. Students who wish to register must agree to attend all classes, rehearsals, and performances. Please adjust your schedule accordingly! After one absence, students may be asked to withdraw from Fairy Tale Theater without a refund. Students must also commit to memorizing and practicing their scripts and practicing vocal projection during time away from school.

Parents are expected to commit 4 or more hours to:

  • find and assemble costumes for their children
  • design, create, and paint props and sets
  • assist their children in memorizing their scripts
  • assist in costume changes before and after performances
  • arrange an opening night reception to follow the performance
  • contribute snacks and beverages for a reception following the opening night performance
