At Mathews, we rely on volunteers for a variety of activities, programs, events, etc. There are so many ways to get involved and help out, so please feel free to reach out and join us!
Some of the many volunteer opportunities we have include, but are not limited to:
Getting involved as homeroom parents;
Helping out with Book Fair;
Providing support during special events, such as Octoberama, International Festival, Track & Field Day, and Building & Grounds Day;
Fundraising for our Annual Fund.
We will send out communication throughout the school year to recruit volunteers as we need them. If you are interested in learning more about specific volunteer needs, please contact the PTA Volunteer Coordinator, Brooke Salman, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please be advised that, per district policy, every volunteer is required to register through the Austin Partners in Education (APIE) website before they can volunteer. Once there, you can select between Mentor or School-based Volunteer. We do not have classroom coaches at Mathews.
While registering for School-based Volunteer, you will automatically be taken to a page asking for a donation. You do not need to donate. There will be a blue link that says "Click here to continue the registration process without donating." that allows you to bypass the donation page.
At this time, we unfortunately do not have a timeline for how long this registration process takes.
